Commissioned to compose A New Work for double ensemble formed for the combination of musicians from the Yurodny (Dublin) and Hezarfen (Istanbul) Ensembles. This is made possible by a Commissions Award from the Arts Council of Ireland 2011. Premiere is in Dublin, Ireland July/August 2012. Created Two Step Passing (June 2011) for Spark, Germany. It is an extended version of To Feel Passionate With from Music for a Lost Earth. It containes new material in addition to being adapted for Spark's instrumentation (sopranino recorder, melodica, piano, violin, cello). Currently working on Judgment of Midas, an opera in two acts. It is being created in cooperation with the American Opera Projects. Commissioned by Crawford Greenewalt, Jr. III, to mark the 50th anniversary of Sardis/Lydia excavations, sponsored by Harvard and Cornell Universities. It will be co-produced starting in 2012, initially with Milwaukee Florentine Opera/Present Music (September 2012), and then with Berkeley West Edge Opera and American Opera Projects in New York. Talks with other opera companies in the US and Europe are ongoing for them to join the production cycle. A New Chamber Work for St. Paul’s School in London is commissioned by them. It will be premiered in London in the Spring of 2012.
